Head Department
Simone Peloso, Ph.D., is Head of the Department Construction & Infrastructure.
He obtained his Laurea degree in Civil Engineering (2001) from the University of Pavia (Italy), M.Sc. in reduction of seismic risk (2002) from ROSE School – IUSS (School for Advanced Studies of Pavia), and Ph.D. in seismic engineering (2006) from the University of Pavia.
Since 2001, he took part in theoretical and experimental researches, being also Visiting Scholar (2003) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA).
Between 2008 and 2011, Dr. Peloso was adjunct professor of Fundamentals of Structural Engineering at the University of Pavia. His main research interests include: experimental methods, data analysis and interpretation of the behaviour of structures; monitoring systems and algorithms for automatic dynamic identification; and simplified structural assessment methods.
Dr. Peloso participated to the emergency management activities following the Italian earthquakes of Salò (2004), Abruzzi-Aquila (2009), Emilia (2012) and Central Italy-Amatrice (2016).
