The EUCENTRE Foundation is thrilled to announce its participation in the 8th edition of the European Civil Protection Forum, to be held in Brussels on June 4-5, 2024. This event, the largest ever organised in the sector, will bring together over 1,500 civil protection professionals, including researchers, operators, and policymakers from more than 70 countries.
During the two-day forum, participants can engage in in-depth discussions, knowledge exchanges, best practices sharing, networking activities, and community building. Civil protection and disaster risk management authorities at various governance levels, first responders, civil society organisations, private sector, academia, EU institutions, and partner international organisations will be represented.
At booth no. 30, the EUCENTRE Foundation will highlight projects funded by DG ECHO and coordinated by the Italian Civil Protection Department, in collaboration with the CIMA Foundation. These projects focus on seismic, flood and wildfire risk management in the Western Balkans and Turkey, aligned with the objectives of the Civil Protection Village.
Among the innovations presented, visitors will find video tutorials of SEISMEC, BORIS, and CRISIS, along with the Compact Seismic Simulator (CSS). The CSS is an integrated, portable system for simulating seismic events on scale models of structures, enabling the study of structural seismic response.
