Department Construction and Infrastructure
Carlo Filippo Manzini, researcher at the Structures and Infrastructures Department of the Eucentre Foundation, has been working for over ten years in the field of the evaluation of the seismic behavior of masonry structures.
In particular, he deals with numerical modeling and development of software for the evaluation of the seismic response of masonry buildings (he is co-author of the SAM II code, calculation engine of the commercial software ANDILWall) as well as for the analysis and the aided verification, in accordance with Italian and European standards, of masonry structural and non-structural elements and of applications aimed at experimental data processing and at interpretation and graphic rendering of the results of pseudo-static tests and shake-table dynamic tests.
He is also involved in the didactic activity of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Pavia, carrying out didactic seminars and collaborating in teaching as part of the “Construction Technique” course.
He participated in the post-earthquake emergency assessment activities following the earthquakes of L’Aquila (2009) and Emilia (2012).
