Andrea Spillatura is a Structural Engineer who is interested in various aspects of Earthquake Engineering with particular attempt to risk: from hazard analysis to fragility, vulnerability and loss estimation.
He finished the PhD program in Understanding and Managing Extremes at Istituto Universitario Studi Superiori of Pavia (IUSS) in Fall 2017.
His research is mainly related to seismic Risk with particular focus on Performance Based Earthquake Engineering (PBEE), ground motions selection procedures, fragility and vulnerability assessment of structures. He is part of a project about Risk Assessment of code complaints buildings funded by Italian Civil Protection.
Andrea obtained also an MSc in Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology at IUSS in 2014.
He did his undergraduate studies at Università degli Studi of Perugia obtaining a BSc (2008) in Civil Engineering and another MSc (2011) in Structural Engineering.
